Moving Out
When moving out, there's a couple of things to keep in mind to ensure a smooth process and get as much of your deposit back as possible.
Step 1:
As a rule of thumb you have 3 months of notice when moving out, but we're often flexible and have a waiting list of possible tennants, so give us a ring or drop us an e-mail - also, make sure to check your contract for details.
Step 2:
The room or appartment must be left in the same state as when you moved in, so be sure to allow enough time to get this in order before the inspection. The following things are what's typically expected for both rooms and appartments;
- Everything is freshly painted, incl. walls, ceiling & panels. (We can typically offer painting a room for ~2.500,- to 3.000,- depending on size and wear - appartments vary due to sizing).
- Floors are oiled (as a minimum. If damage has been done to the floors, large chipping or severe dents, grinding/sanding is mandatory).
- Windows are polished (inside & out).
- All power outlets, window panes, radiators (also behind), cupboards, floor-panes, bathroom, mirrors polished, freezers defrosted, oven, fridge etc. are cleaned thoroughly.
- Thorough vacuuming everywhere.
- Remember to remove all your belongings, garbage etc. - this includes sheds, outdoor areas, lofts, basements etc.
Step 3:
Agree on a date for inspecting the room or appartment with us. On this date we'll go through the room or appartment verifying that everything is as expected and agreed in the contract. This inspection is mandatory and dictated by Danish law and we follow the same format as most other companies.
On the date of the inspection, we'll ensure that the painting and cleaning has been carried out and that power outlets, radiators, utilities, windows etc. all work as expected. Once completed you'll receive a signed form of handover and we'll receive the keys to the room or appartment.
Make sure to let us know your future address and account information for the return of your deposit.
